Stumbled on a newspaper reunion article from 2018. The Adoptee was a Cole Baby adoption.
Mrs. Cole is one of the people called to answer questions in the Kefauver Sub-Committee Hearings on Juvenile Delinquency back in the 1950’s, which included how Adoptions were being done (nice way to say it wasn’t good). The link to the testimony by Mrs. Cole in the Kefauver Sub-Committee Hearings starts on page 213.
Interesting side note: both the chair of this committee and sub-chair were adoptive parents who had no time for the irregular adoptions happening that were pretty common back then. They exposed a lot of things folks would have preferred swept under the rug permanently.
