Widow Owes Rejected Adopted Daughter Millions, Court Rules

Adopted in 1996 from China as a baby, the father passes away in 1997, in 2004 the widow found another couple who wanted to adopt her.

    I can’t imagine how the rejection she’s experienced will affect the little girl who was adopted 😦

    What the heck. I’ve serious chills. What an awful story. Good for the court, but gee. Makes me sick.

      Yes – makes me sick too – both the rehoming from the first “forever” home (which is why that term makes me cringe) and the cutting her out of the estate. It really hasn’t been all that many years since we had no right to inherit – different for every state but still – some adoptees alive today had no right to inherit when they were adopted…no idea if those adoptees would have to be named specifically in a will to inherit.

    Terrible story. Sounds like the first adoptive mother was a horrible human being. Good for the courts.
