Ted Talk – Evelyn Glennie shows how to listen

04 Dec

I just listened to this talk and it is beyond my ability with words to describe.  It also has such a wider context than simply music, it applies to every part of listening from written words to spoken words to body language and further.  I loved it.  Hope you do to.

Evelyn Glennie

Scottish percussionist and composer Evelyn Glennie lost nearly all of her hearing by age 12. Rather than isolating her, it has given her a unique connection to her music.

In this soaring demonstration, deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie illustrates how listening to music involves much more than simply letting sound waves hit your eardrums.
