Bizarre but it happens…

18 Sep

I have never read this blog and have only read this post and it is a story of what happened TO her that will make you angry.  But it speaks to the extreme of what I see happening with pass-along cards and other types of “networking” that makes it all to easy to cross that line in the sand where it becomes massively unethical.

Its reeks of desperation to be a mother and honestly if you are that desperate – in my opinion you are NOT going to be the type of parent YOU need to be if you adopt.  Sheer desperation at that level is HORRIFIC…

Plainly Inappropriate

Thank you to the blogger for speaking out about this.

I’m amazed at the audacity of some people. Imagine walking up to someone and asking them if they want to give their baby up for adoption!!

Did you read Jane Edward’s comment about what happened after the terrorists brought down the World Trade Center? Seems that a lawyer who belongs to the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys posted a comment on their private forums that basically advised other lawyers to approach the pregnant widows of 9/11 and ask them to consider giving their babies up for adoption. I felt like vomiting when I read that…

Dannie, yes…unfortunately it really did happen. I forgot to mention that the blog Jane commented on was FMF (Lorraine Dusky and Jane Edwards). I think the comment was made a few days ago on the 9/11 entry.

I cannot even begin to imagine what kind of slimeball would advise his or her colleagues to convince a pregnant widow to surrender her baby…but then lawyers are some of my least favorite people, specifically adoption attorneys and lawyers who defend the pharmaceutical industry in lawsuits while pretending they defend the underdogs of our society.

That is disgusting, Raven. Btw I went to look for the comment on FMF on the 9/11 post but couldn’t find it, perhaps I was looking in the wrong place? As for the other lady, that was certainly totally inappropriate and the sad thing is that many people can’t see where they’ve crossed the line or even where the line is.

CB, sorry about that. It was the entry titled “Single fathers today stay to raise their children,” posted on September 13th. Jane’s comment is the next to the last one in the Comment Section.
